I went on to tapped in again, and I found it to be very useful. It was about filmatentality, teacher tube and instructional architect. Filmatentality allows the teacher to create lesson plans. Teacher tube has really good videos of works they have done. The tapped in lesson was aimed for math and science teachers; I am sure that is why I enjoyed it so much.

I have created a web site that incorporates united streaming to show how to solve slope intercept equations. It is a different way to teach, and I think my students will enjoy a new approach to learning.

I did a screencast using excel to show mean, median and mode. It was not difficult once I got the hang of it.

This was a really cool tool. I can see how this could benefit students. If a student missed a day of school, I could record the lesson and that student could attempt to do the missed work by following along with the podcast. Great way to teach.

I use computers to have them play games such as green globs, Sudoku, counting cubes.

When I teach slope intercept I like to use the following website:

I also like to use funbrain as a reinforcer. Many of my students enjoy the website even though it is aimed for younger students.

I feel by using games the students are more willing to learn concepts, and they are more likely to retain the concepts. Students love to get on the internet and it helps to break up the monotony of lecture-worksheet. Even I get tired of lecture-worksheet. It is a great way to review, and a great way to learn.

I have had to use Bloom’s Taxonomy in my classroom for the past year. Here is an example of a lesson using Bloom’s Taxonomy.
If I am teaching PEMDAS these are the steps I take to cover all 6 areas of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
Knowledge: Identify the correct order of operations to start solving the problem.
Comprehension: Explain why this is the best way to tackle the problem.
Application: Solve the problem using the steps that the student has chosen.
Analsis: Break it down into pieces by parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition and subtraction.
Synthesis: I will assign homework for them to create their own order of operations problem.
Evaluation: It is up to the student to assess their problem for accuracy.

I had never done anything like that until now. It was fun, and I learned a couple of things new. I understand tapped in a lot better. I really like the controls that I can set for my students. I also like the ability to offer students a way to contact me outside of work. I think it would be a great way for parents to contact me. It would give them a way to talk to me live. In today’s society telephone is not the easiest way to reach someone. Everything is set around email these days and it would give parents another option.
